Who We Are
Glucosphere was founded by healthcare professionals with a shared goal of improving diabetes care. After being diagnosed with the condition in 2021, our founder recognised the incredible emotional burden of the disease and the lack of support during diagnosis. By combining clinical experience, research expertise and a passion for innovation, we are developing solutions that support patients, clinicians and healthcare organisations to better manage diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes is the only chronic illness where patients are expected to make hundreds of treatment decisions alone, every single day.
These patients typically see their diabetes team just once or twice a year. Not only does this mental burden cause psychological distress, but it also means that the specialists get very little opportunity to actually intervene.
There is also no continuity of care- as when patients become unwell and are admitted to hospital, they are seen by a different team. If you move area, the team and even the diabetes tech changes.
The current system is disjointed, ineffective and leaves patients feeling that they are managing their diabetes alone.

Thats why we are developing a specialist diabetes team that will provide 24/7 support and risk stratification to prevent complications and admissions. For the first time, you will have a dedicated specialist team which are consistent throughout your diabetes journey. No matter how big or small your worries are, we will be there to help adults living with type 1 diabetes to feel empowered to manage their condition, allowing them to create lifelong healthy habits and eradicate preventable complications
